DANIELLE & ANTHONY | YOSEMITE VALLEY ELOPEMENT

Last month we got to do something epic and capture this Yosemite Valley Elopement. Danielle and Anthony are dream clients and their entire wedding day was a dream. Even though it was just the couple and their son and the pastor… it wasn’t without it’s challenges. But those challenges did have huge silver linings and it ended up being a perfect day.

I was a tiny bit worried about the weather to be honest. Thankfully, we got just the right amount of snow the night before their ceremony. Luckily, the roads were safe and clear while the chapel was surrounded by the most beautiful blanket of snow. As the day went on and the sun came out other areas and grassy fields dried up. Which gave us such a different look than the snowy chapel area.

Only a few days before their wedding day, we found out all of the Yosemite valley lodging closed down. We also got news that the chapel they were to married inside, could no longer hold indoor ceremonies of any size. The couple luckily was able to get a rushed permit to get married on the chapel grounds in the Valley. The closure of the lodging actually worked in our favor, the park was nearly empty! Which allowed us to travel to several of the most popular spots. El Capitan Meadow and Tunnel View we’re two we hit in a short amount of time!

Even though I was born and raised in California, this was actually my first time in Yosemite Valley and I am so blessed that it included getting to capture such a special day for such an amazing family. I know that even if I get the opportunity to shoot a wedding in Yosemite again, it will never be such a magical experience as this one was.
