PROGRAMS AND APPS FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS
Programs and Apps for Photographers
Today we’re talking about programs and apps for photographers, that you probably didn’t know you needed. Because I literally didn’t know how life changing some of these could be until the last few years. Let’s start with one I’ve talked about before…
HONEYBOOK
Now, you may not need Honeybook specifically but it happens to be my favorite option out there. What is Honeybook? Honeybook is a CRM (or client relationship manager). Honeybook is not just for photographers but works beautifully for us and also is geared a little bit more towards wedding photographers, which I love. Not only can you easily manage a client from inquiry to gallery delivery but it can be used for SO. MUCH. MORE.
- Collecting payments and setting up automatic payment reminders
- Connecting with other local vendors
- Easily referring to other vendors when you’re booked or when your current client is looking for a makeup artist, florist, etc.
- Create, track and manage questionnaires that you send to clients
- PLUS MORE!
You guys, I know this is sounding like and ad, and I am going to share my discount code with you. But I would NEVER recommend a product that I didn’t love 110%, I said it before Honeybook has made my business better and I seriously get compliments from clients all the time about how much they like it. So, if you want a free trial and to save 50% off… check out honeybook.
BLOGSTOMP & PLANN
Now that you’re easily booking more and more clients you’ll need a way to easily and effectively blog all those images as well as post them to social media. For blogging I use BlogStomp every single time. It’s how I get my images grouped perfectly and sized perfectly for web viewing. I also use it to add my watermark to the images I post on Facebook. You can think of BlogSttomp as a collage maker but more intuitive than the others and with tons of features. Here’s a little preview of me working on an upcoming engagement session blog post. This desktop program has cut my blogging time in half!
Now, Plann is the first phone app you probably didn’t know you needed, but you do! Ever wonder how everyone gets their Instagram feed to look so cohesive and like it was planned out perfectly? Well that’s because it literally was planned. Plann allows you to see what your feed can look like before even posting your images to Instagram. It also has cool features like insights into what hashtags are working for you and what days and times have your most successful posts were made. I wish I could say the image below is a sneak peek to upcoming Instagram posts but honestly I am playing around with the order of my posts all the time because it’s so easy to use.
PIXIESET
Okay, you booked the client and now have a beautiful set of photos to deliver them. The days of CD’s and even flash drives is OVER! Pixieset is a photographers and clients new best friend. It is a way to deliver a clients gallery digitally and beautifully. It looks similar to Pinterest board and you can even set it up to allow clients to purchase prints. That’s passive income! I’ve looked into a lot of different gallery delivery options and in my opinion for the functionality, customer service, the beautiful look and the price it can’t be beat. They do have a free version and if you use my link we can both get an extra 250 MB of storage!
LIGHTROOM MOBILE
Another must have mobile app and the last one we’re going to be talking about is Lightroom Mobile. It has many of the same features as the original lightroom for your laptop or desk top and … it’s FREE! This little app is seriously powerful. I use it to edit the images I take with my phone that are posted to Facebook and my Instagram stories. You can even use mobile presets in the app, it’s incredible.
Okay guys, I wish I didn’t have to say this but I’m going to. None of these programs know I exist and none of them are paying me to blog about them. Pink promise. I do however get a referral bonus for anyone who signs up for a 1 year subscription with Honeybook but I would talk that program up even if I didn’t, it’s been that life changing. I wanted to share this blog post because I wish there was a post like this that I saw 5 years ago. It would have saved me years of frustration not knowing some of these programs even existed then having to go through all the created options when I did find out these solutions existed.
